My new home waters fly shop: The Trinity Fly Shop. I’ve been stopping in a couple of days each year to gain current fishing information. I didn’t fish the river much as I was usually here in the summer, fishing out of my boat on Lewiston Lake. However, I was always treated as if I was a local.
Herb and Pat have been running this shop for 30+ years, and also run a guide service. They have always been kind and informative and know this area like the back of their hands. Herb greeted me today with congratulations on my becoming a full time resident of this great area. It is nice to know that there is a knowledge source to the river with all the materials I may ever need.
I got information from Pat today on a number of areas on the Trinity that are easy to get in and out of. A couple of areas were mentioned and I checked them out as I drove on to Weaverville. Yes, there are areas that are available and hold fish at times that are accessible by those who are trying to get in shape.
And, to be 100% accurate, I am not now or have ever been employed or received gratuities from the Trinity Fly Shop. I’m lucky to have spent 30 years on the coast learning fishing from Mike Kuczynski at the Eureka Fly Shop. I now look forward to learning from and exchanging river information with Herb and Pat and their staff at The Trinity Fly Shop.
