It turns out I gained 10 to 15 pounds during my trip. Wow. And I was even more sedentary than back at home. However, I am doing a 4-10 work out schedule, sometimes called a “Ten-Four Good Buddy” program. I ride the bike for 10 minutes and do 10 stair pushups four times a day. After 10 days, I increase by 5 minutes. I plan to leave in two weeks, weather permitting, and catch 3 fish either in Oregon or California. The choices are the Lahontan Cutthroat, the Bull Trout, and the Coastal Cutthroat in Oregon, or 3 from California, from the Coastal Cutthroat, Eagle Lake Rainbow, Kern River Rainbow, and the California Golden Trout. The Lahontan Cutthroat is also available in California but I collapsed miles from the trailhead the last time I sought them.
So, the trip was fantastic. Some setbacks along the way of course, but nothing too big. The scenery and the people were fantastic, the fish beautiful, and the weather great. I’ll continue to catch fish towards completing the Master Caster qualification. No rush. No Fuss. The road calls and I’ll answer.
