I had decided to fish a week or more at stocked lakes around Anchorage. I rolled out of the van at noon. The lake was flat and beautiful. I started to get the belly boat ready and my fingers were pink and were hurting from the 45 F temperature. Oh hell no! Ice cold air, floating in water, for stocked trout, when I live at one of the greatest stocked lakes in California, if not the west coast.
I’m heading to Anchorage and will take photos on the way. My plan is to watch the first niners game tomorrow at a sports bar / restaurant in Anchorage. I’ll then decide on what I’ll do and where I’ll go.
So, I’m on my way to Anchorage to a sports bar. I plan to spend the night in a Cabela’s parking lot. Not much to do but keep driving and taking photos. Nothing like, yet another, phase of this trip.
Tight Lines!
Hi Shane,
The Niner game had to put a smile on your face. You were the minority in the bar I would think with Seahawk fans. Sure wish you could catch a break on some fishing and catching. Terrain has not been your friend and a recent kick ass storm is no help. Trust you are being safe. Louie will be in prime shape when you get home, as fishing is starting to pick up now. Keep your cards and letters coming, voyeurism is a none contact sport. Don
