After driving down to Soldotna I had to check out the fishing action at Centennial Park. There were a handful of people fishing, and I saw about 4 or 5 salmon being carried up into the parking lot while I was there. I checked in at Mossy’s Fly Shop in Anchorage on my way down, and was told that the Kenai was high from the rains, and that the place to go was the Anchor River. Off I go tomorrow back to Homer and the Anchor River.
The good news is I’m 575 miles south of Fairbanks and can catch a combination Salmon / Halibut charter out of Homer until the 9th of September. That will give me a chance to fill up my freezer / refrigerator as I hardly use it at all as a refrigerator.
I thought I would do a little Photoshop magic on one of the photos taken along the Denali Highway. I cropped and enhanced the sky in this photo. I followed some instructions online to darken the blues in the sky, but also darkened the blues in the mountains (needed to mask off the sky first, but I did a quicker method). Oh well. Tomorrow I head down towards Homer to see what the rivers look like after two weeks of rain. Oh Joy.
