I got up at noon to see a beautiful, windless lake, ready to be fished. However, I couldn’t hear well as my hearing aid batteries died overnight. I know I saw some spares, but it could take hours to find in the nooks and crannies of the van. A wise person would fish for a couple of hours, then drive the hour to Fred Meyer in Soldotna to get hearing aids, and then drive back. Not me. Better get them asap just in case?
I had brunch at the Sunrise Restaurant in Coopers Landing, then drove down to Fred Meyer’s in Soldotna. Nothing much going on as it was Sunday. By the time I got back, rain and wind had taken over the skies. I missed the window of perfect weather on a lake that contained 8 pound rainbows and large dolly varden char. Good thing I’m feeling better or this could have been bad lol.
Oh, and the batteries did not help. My hearing aids are mostly broken, and I have to take out the left one and point my ear at a person to hear. I’d go without them, but then my ears sound like I’m wearing ear mufflers all day. Ah well.
Tomorrow is another time to fish.
