I woke up to a wet campground with a medium rain hitting the area. I really didn’t want to float tube in the rain, and the prospect of catching “normal” sized trout in lakes of the area didn’t thrill me. The original idea for this trip was to document in a blog, fishing all along the Alcan Highway. I then found the Parks Highway from Fairbanks to Anchorage and decided to add that on top of the Alcan experiences.
Not wanting to sit around in the rain, I drove 8 hours (migrate) to Dawson Creek BC, the start of the Alcan Highway. It turns out that the Alcan Highway was closed for 3 days due to landslides, and that it has just reopened for one way traffic. Tonight I do some research and the Trip of a Lifetime starts tomorrow.
Tight Lines!
I knew I should have trademarked that title…lol.
Happy journey!
