Okay. For those of you who don’t know, my ebike trip across America has been postponed for two summers due to Covid. I have exercised and lost 20 pounds since the New Year. I worked my way up to riding a recumbent exercise bike for one hour continuous each day, and doing DDPYoga a couple of times per week.
My trip is scheduled to start in mid-June. In 70 days I am to bike an average of 60 miles a day pulling a loaded one-wheel bike trailer….camping and sometimes staying in a hotel. Today was the first day of actually riding the bike. I drove to the Sundial Bridge in Redding, planning on doing 20 miles.
I should have known better, as this was the photo of my bike I took at home, trying to keep the license plate out of the way. I also should have known to check the tire pressure after 2 years. I almost died riding 200 feet to the bridge. Fortunately, a guy told me that my rear tire was almost to the rim on the ground. I drove home (no pump, just emergency CO2 cartridges, and found the front tire had a pressure of 30 psi and the rear tire didn’t even push the pressure guage. Aarrgghh
So, I almost became exhausted riding 200 feet. I’m heading back tomorrow, but something tells me I have to take it slow, but have a lot of work to do in the next 70 days.
Thanks for reading. Tight Lines and Inflated Tires!!!!
