So, I’m back. The picture above is an 18 inch rainbow I caught a couple of days ago on a size 16 modified PT Nymph on Lewiston Lake. Lots of stuff happened in 18 months, for everyone.
Timeline: Took a job teaching 8th grade science in Redding at Sequoia Middle School in January, 2020. Covid hit in March so the school went into 100% distance learning. Of course my bike trip across America was canceled. I was scheduled to teach this last year at Sequoia, but the district decided that they would start school with all students, all periods, every day during the height of the pandemic. On advice from my doctor and insistence from my kids, I resigned before school started.
I spent the Fall, Winter, and this summer fishing at Lewiston Lake, puttering on working on my van to make it a camper van, and didn’t travel across America this summer because of Covid, again. I’ve started training for traveling across America during Summer 2022. Other than that, I have good health and am getting healthy, and maybe finally riding a bike across America next summer.
Until then, everyday is a Saturday and an adventure.
I’m glad to be back!
