Two more days and no steelhead fishing. I got up late yesterday and had to run into town for food, so I didn’t get on the water. Today I got up at 8:00 AM as my bike motor was to arrive today and I needed to be present. However, after dinner I checked online and my delivery has been changed until Friday. I could have been on the water today. I probably will not get on the water until Saturday as deliveries here are usually just before dinner.
However, two weeks ago I received my travel rod for my trip, a 6 piece, 5 weight, Redington Classic Trout Rod. I have used it on the lake and it can cast a mile, except when I put a balanced leech on the end then the line plops in the water about 10 feet from the boat.
I’m trying to get information about fishing along the Transamerica Bike Trail, to no effect. Therefore, I can assume my blog will detail the first documented trip along the trail where the “cause” is fishing, as well as “be”, as in because. I am thinking of bringing a tripod along my trip as I’ll have plenty of room as I will be pulling a trailer. It might be nice to set up a camera as I try to catch a fish, somewhere, at some time.
I really want to hit the Trinity River and try to catch a steelhead. I’m not sure how well my body will hold up as to how far I can walk along the river. Pretty sad actually for someone who plans to ride a bike across America starting in late May.
Hang in there all.
