I ran three transects today. The loop route has fish in the northern end on the far side of the lake. Worms got the nod for the loop transect and they pulled ahead with 17 strikes, 1 hookup and lost, and 3 fish landed. Once fish find the worms they keep hitting them over and over. I think fish hook up more often on the spinners because they are smaller. Fortunately, even with worms and a barbed hook I was able to release all three fish.
I observed the trout truck dumping fish at the boat ramp yesterday morning at 11:30. Surprisingly, I haven’t had a hookup in that area during transects yesterday and today. I plan on running 4 transects tomorrow. Things on the lake are fun (transects) and I’ve ridden my recumbent exercise bike for an hour each of the past 4 days. Fun, fun, fun.
