Not a bad day on the lake. I fished from 1:00 to 3:45 PM today, a departure from my evening sessions. I landed 9 fish, with most of them fat 14-inchers. The photo above is a 14-incher (measured before photo) that took a size 20 green bead zebra midge about 4 feet below the surface.
I rested up and went for my first bicycle ride in more than a decade. I was very shaky and almost rode into a ditch several times. I was able to ride 2.6 miles in 17 minutes, although I was exhausted at the end. I planned on 4 miles but realized quickly that 4 miles would be too much. It was great being on a bike again and I can’t wait until I get my balance back.
This evening I headed out to fish near the Rockpile in front of the marina. There was only about 45 minutes left of light, but fish were rising. I headed up to the Rockpile area, cast towards a rise, and landed a 19 inch cage raised fish. It filled up my net and I didn’t take my camera of course, so no picture. I landed another fish right after but that was all I would hook during the evening.
So, my big announcement is delayed for the next post.
Tight Lines.
