Well, I had a great post going several days ago only to have hit “some” key(s) that deleted the entire post. Therefore, I am writing this in Google Docs hoping that it will copy and paste correctly (as the Internet states).
Updates: I spent 3 days working on reducing material from my storage unit in Eureka. It was exhausting, but I was able to empty it to the point where I can organize material into groups (keep, donate, trash) while keeping all the material in the storage unit. I figure two more trips and I’ll be emptying it, moving my “keep” stuff over to Lewiston.
I got back and fished the last 3 nights with success similar to all this summer. In 45 minutes I landed 13 fish on Saturday night. On Sunday night I landed 8 fish in 1:15. All of the fish were 12 inch clones, fighting really hard and acting much larger.
Yesterday, water was flowing over 2000 cubic feet per second for the ceremonies down in Hoopa. I headed to Ten Mile Lake and it was dead. Few insects were hatching and even fewer fish were jumping. I did land one fish that filled up my net. It was at least 16 inches, and probably larger, but it fell into the water as I removed the hook.
This all happened after I was told that fish were all over the marina area. One person stated that their lures were bumping off fish, and that another group caught 23 fish in a half hour. After trolling the area for 45 minutes with no luck, I headed down to the Ten Mile Lake to catch my “big-un”!
Big update in the next post. My life is taking a new direction by my choice.
