I am leaning on taking a taxi to Moalboal. More expensive, but quicker, and I should be able to stop to take pictures if I want. I have two offers. The first one I’m not too keen on–the taxi driver didn’t have good English skills and was trying to sell me on a day adventure down there. The second driver I liked, but I lost the address (and have been looking all day in everything I own). Guess I’ll decide tonight, or perhaps, get a third offer as I head out to the Ayala Mall (for traveling cash).
So, in the mean time, there are roosters on almost every corner???
And my selfie from the zoo looks more like a photo bomb.
And then, one for my son Alex. A Yonex only tennis store in the mall.
Now that I have distracted you…….I have wimped out. I’ll cry over the money later, but I chose the 3rd option not discussed for my travel to Moalboal: Have the resort arrange my transportation. Much more expensive, but after my Afib episode last night (and feeling it a little today), I think the extra $20 is a wise expense. Here is how the options broke down.
1. Taxi to bus station (50 P), non air conditioned bus ride for 3 1/2 hours (aarrgghh) (180 P). Finding a motorcycle with side car to complete the trip to the hotel (200 P) = 430 P ($9.50) and a tough trip
2. Taxi, either with the first driver who was a little sketch or with someone I found today (2500 P) and the side car trip to the hotel (200 P) = 2700 P ($60.00) with the worry that I was actually being set up lol (his private car, not a taxi).
3. The resort arranges for my taxi ride all the way to the resort (3400 P, $75.00 [damn, that’s expensive]) The cost of a night’s lodging but air conditioned, fast, no transfers, and it will be a much more stress free experience. I get picked up at my hotel at 1:00 tomorrow and should arrive by 3:00 or 3:30…..otherwise known as Beer Time.
Paradise in less than a day!! Yay!!!
